We held the Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair at Sussex Coast College, Hastings, on Friday 26th February 2016. This was my fifth annual fair as I believe it was the best yet.
Hastings and Rye has many growing businesses which are looking for staff, and new jobs and apprenticeships are being created across the constituency and East Sussex on an almost daily basis. However, for many who are unemployed, it often remains challenging to find the right opportunities; this is where the Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair helped to demonstrate what is on offer locally.
Over the last five years the Jobs Fair has brought many people looking to enter or regain employment into contact with employers eager for their talents, and I know that many opportunities were created and realised as a result.
I hope this Fair will prove at least as successful as previous years and help many more local people forge their career paths. Furthermore, this year I have recognised the growing demand from employees and companies for apprenticeships, and have enhanced the Fair in order to encourage a greater awareness of the fantastic apprenticeship opportunities in our area.
The Fair will enable jobseekers to attend seminars providing employment and training advice, identify local vacancies which meet their talents and ambitions, and make contact with the businesses and employers who can offer a bright future in employment.
Please come and join us!

MP for Hastings & Rye
